Arley Delmont Lish Sr.

 
 
POCATELLO Arley Delmont Lish Sr., 93, Pocatello, Idaho, died Thursday, March 7, 2002, at a local health care center.

He was born June 22, 1908, at McCammon, Idaho, to Dell Ray and Ermannie Valetta Norton Lish. He grew up and attended school in Onyx and Pocatello.

He married Lula A. Mitchell on November 18, 1933, in Preston, Idaho. The marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple on September 9, 1987.

He was employed by the Union Pacific Railroad for 47 years, retiring as a carman/car inspector in 1975. He loved sports, especially baseball. He was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held numerous callings.

Arley loved his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and often commented that he had the best family in the world


He is survived by his beloved wife of 68 years, Lula A. Lish of Pocatello; three sons: Arley (Veah) and Leon (Carol) of Pocatello and Robert (Kathy) of Orem, Utah; eight grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great- grandchild. His parents, seven brothers and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Bidwell Funeral Home of St. Anthony (a relative of the family.) Services will be conducted Monday, March 11 at 11 a.m. at the Alameda Stake Center, 930 E. Alameda Road, Pocatello, Idaho, with Bishop Bart Reed of the Alameda LDS First Ward conducting. The family will receive friends Sunday evening, March 10 from 7 p.m. till 8:30 p.m. in the Alameda Stake Center Relief Society Room, and from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
